Primrose Exclusive: Brand New Rose Pattern Shade Sail Launch

Good news everybody, the sun is set to make a glorious appearance again this week. So what better way to create some garden shade than with a shade sail!

With over 300 shade sails in our extensive range, you’d be forgiven for thinking we had exhausted the options available to shelter you from the sun. However, we’ve recently launched a brand new rose-patterned shade sail, which will be a delight to any garden, and fit in any colour scheme you might have.

Available in 3m triangle, this shade sail will protect you from the sun all day long. Should the British weather change (which is always a strong possibility), then this particular shade sail has the added benefit of being waterproof.

It’s also time for us to showcase your pictures from Primrose Gardens, with this week’s theme being ‘Animals in Your Garden’. Garden detour? – The Kelly’s Wildlife Garden

A great selection I’m sure you will agree, but which is your favourite? Just comment your favourite on our Facebook post!

We will announce our winner on Monday!

Next week’s theme will be ‘Light in the Garden’, so show off your patio lights, your LED water features or even your BBQs – we love to see your inspirational photos. Gardening website Primrose.co.uk has this week set their whole website to load via secure servers. The company had already previously been using HTTPS URLs for basket and payment pages, but has now set them as standard across every page.

Primrose HTTPS

Managing Director Ian Charles said, ‘We’re dedicated to offering our customers the most trustworthy and secure experience possible. Using secure servers across the site from the moment the customer lands to the point they complete their purchase is reassuring for internet shoppers.’

Google has been encouraging websites to adopt ‘HTTPS everywhere’ and now Primrose is joining the forerunners in secure browsing. Currently only 21% of the world’s top 100 websites employ HTTPS by default. ‘Like our innovative waterproof shade sails, we like to shelter our customers both online and in the garden,’ Ian Charles added. ‘Online security is such an important issue, we’re pleased to be adopting this across the site.’

Primrose has grown to become the UK’s biggest online gardening retailer since being established in 2003. It specialises in water features, awnings, planters and a whole range of outdoor lifestyle products.

George at PrimroseGeorge works in the Primrose marketing team. As a lover of all things filmic, he also gets involved with our TV ads and web videos.

George’s idea of the perfect time in the garden is a long afternoon sitting in the shade with a good book. A cool breeze, peace and quiet… But of course, he’s usually disturbed by his energetic wire fox terrier, Poppy!

He writes about his misadventures in repotting plants and new discoveries about cat repellers.

Record Sales Day

Last week, Primrose achieved their highest sales in one day – exceeding £250,000 for the first time.

Ian Charles, MD, said “It’s all about the sunshine – you never know when the first really big day of the season is going to hit until you look at the pre-weekend weather forecast. We work hard every year at gearing up for big days like this – most of our products are offered on a next-day basis, so it’s crucial we don’t let anyone down. My colleagues on the phones and in our warehouses worked tremendously hard and efficiently to get the job done on the day. We’ve also continued to invest in even larger ranges of unique products available for next day delivery.”

Established in 2003, Primrose is a family-run garden specialist which has been a key player in the gradual shift of the gardening sector online. “With over 100,000 product reviews and highly detailed product information, customers often have a much better understanding and confidence in the product than they have in store. They also have access to a vast range specialist products – they no longer need to have the same plants and decorative items that their neighbours have.”

Callum is currently on his placement year here at Primrose with his parents being huge garden enthusiasts.Callum
